High Speed UK - Links to Wales

No dedicated HSUK routes are proposed within Wales.

However, new and upgraded HSUK routes within the Midlands and the Northern Powerhouse will transform intercity rail links to both the North and South Wales coasts.

With this core network in place, HSUK will offer the following key benefits for Wales:

Intercity services from London to Bangor and Holyhead, with improved intercity links to Chester from Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and the North-East.

Improved intercity links from Swansea, Cardiff and Newport to the Midlands, the North, Scotland and Heathrow.

Cardiff directly connected by means of high speed, high frequency and high quality services to all other UK primary cities.
