Rigorous comparative costing of HS2, Northern Powerhouse Rail and HSUK show HSUK’s construction costs to be around £20bn less than those of HS2 and NPR combined. This huge difference can be attributed to HSUK’s vastly superior network design, and to its more appropriate and responsible choice of route.
