13. How can the small HSUK team develop a scheme so superior to HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail combined?

It doesn’t really matter, how many people are working on either the HS2 project or on Northern Powerhouse Rail, if (in the case of HS2 Ltd) they are working to the wrong remit or (in the case of Transport for the North) they are basing their Northern Powerhouse Rail proposals on the fatally-flawed HS2.  The UK intercity network will work most efficiently, and work best for the people of the United Kingdom, if it is holistically designed as a single integrated unit.  The false divisions between HS2 and Network Rail, and the disastrous dependency of Northern Powerhouse Rail upon HS2, can only result in inefficiency and dysfunction.

All this should have been blindingly obvious to those guiding the development of the UK rail system.  However, it is proved beyond any doubt by the vastly superior performance of HSUK, designed to diametrically opposite principles of integration, and holistic network design.  For further information see HS2 – High Speed to Failure and The Northern Poorhouse.
